Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training in operations and management, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management by driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

  3. Supervise store crew activities, including assigning, directing, and following up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.

  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS's customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $17.10 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
