Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to gain experience in basic operations and management skills, learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management by driving store execution and performance, and by building consumer loyalty through excellent customer service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

1. Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
• Handle customer relations issues according to company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Advanced communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40
• Time Type: Full time
• Pay Range: $16.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location
