Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management by driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff.
    • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up.
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
    • Promote CVS’s customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank).
    • Handle customer relations issues according to company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
    • Maintain customer confidentiality.

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in retail.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 24

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $17.95 per hour
