Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to develop management skills, completes training on key business aspects (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and learns about CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail experience
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 29

Time type: Part-time

Pay Range

The typical pay range is $16.00 - $24.00 per hour. The actual offer depends on experience, education, location, and other factors.
