Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise the store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, fostering a positive shopping experience
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Anticipated weekly hours: 25

Time type: Part time

Pay Range

The typical pay range is $16.00 - $24.00 per hour. Actual salary depends on experience, education, location, and other factors.
