Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Apply deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnight, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Management Responsibilities
  • Work effectively with store management and staff.
  • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
Customer Service Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  • Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, help, and thank customers.
  • Handle customer relations issues per company policy and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and effective communication.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail experience.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Anticipated weekly hours: 29

Employment type: Part-time

Pay range: $18.72 per hour
