Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop skills necessary for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team in driving store execution and performance, while fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth store operations, and oversees all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff
  3. Supervise store activities by assigning, directing, and following up
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Customer Service
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  • Promote CVS's customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking)
  • Handle customer relations issues per company policy and ensure positive shopping experiences
  • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
  • Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in retail

    Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

    Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

    Time Type: Part-time

    Pay Range:

    The typical pay range for this role is $16.00 - $23.00 per hour. The actual offer depends on experience, education, location, and other factors.
