Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic management and operations training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through excellent service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support the store management team by driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
• Exhibit advanced communication skills.
• Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Manage and supervise store staff, assign tasks, and ensure activities are completed effectively.
• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
• Promote CVS customer service culture, including greeting, helping, and thanking customers.
• Handle customer relations issues in accordance with company policy, maintaining a positive shopping experience.
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred but not required).

Preferred: Experience in retail.

• Anticipated weekly hours: 29
• Employment type: Part-time
• Pay range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
