Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to develop skills in management, operations, and customer service, while learning about CVS/pharmacy's culture and business practices.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff
  3. Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up on tasks
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 20
  • Part-time position
  • Pay range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
