Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare an employee for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned tasks to develop management skills, learns about key business aspects like customer loyalty and CVS/pharmacy culture, and completes necessary training.

Upon successful completion, trainees may be considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management in executing store operations and enhancing customer service. When no manager is present, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  • Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
  • Assign, direct, and follow up on activities
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members
  • Customer Service
    • Assist customers with inquiries, issues, and complaints
    • Promote CVS’s customer service culture (greet, assist, thank)
    • Handle customer relations per company policy, fostering positive shopping experiences
    • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
    Qualifications

    Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

    Preferred: Retail experience

    Education

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

    Additional Details

    Anticipated weekly hours: 25

    Time Type: Part-time

    Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
