Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned tasks to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understands CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise the store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  7. Promote CVS's customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Anticipated weekly hours: 20

Time type: Part-time

Pay range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
