Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned tasks to develop management skills, learn about key business aspects like building customer loyalty through exceptional service, and understand CVS/pharmacy's culture.

Upon successful training completion, trainees may be considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management in driving store performance and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is present, the supervisor leads store staff and oversees store operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew by assigning tasks, directing activities, and following up
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
   • Address customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, overnights, and weekends. Overtime may be required.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
