Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform tasks as directed to develop management skills, learn about key business aspects like customer loyalty and CVS/pharmacy culture. Upon successful completion, trainees may be considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management, drive store performance, and ensure smooth store operations in the absence of a manager.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff.
   • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up on tasks.
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
   • Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
   • Handle customer relations issues following company policies.
   • Maintain customer confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
• Advanced communication skills.
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated Weekly Hours: 39
• Time Type: Full time
• Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
