Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key business areas like customer loyalty and CVS/pharmacy culture, and completes relevant training. Successful completion of the program qualifies the trainee for promotion to supervisory roles, which involve supporting store management, leading store staff, and ensuring smooth store operations during absence of a manager.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and monitoring tasks
    • Communicate effectively with management and team members
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with inquiries, issues, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service standards (greeting, offering help, thanking)
    • Handle customer relations per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
    • Maintain confidentiality of customer/patient information
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 28

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.00/hour (base rate; actual offer depends on various factors)
