Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to prepare for future responsibilities, completes basic management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.


Upon successful training completion, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.


Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff.
    • Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints.
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank).
    • Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy to ensure positive shopping experiences.
    • Maintain customer confidentiality.

Qualifications
  • Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Weekly Hours: 24

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $18.72 per hour
