Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned work to develop management skills, learn key business aspects (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understand CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew through assigning, directing, and following up on activities
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy and foster positive shopping experiences
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

• Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

• Weekly Hours: 27
• Time Type: Part-time
• Pay Range: $17.10 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
