Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare an employee for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff
  3. Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  7. Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
  9. Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.00/hour (base rate, actual offer depends on various factors)
