Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform work as directed to develop supervisory skills, complete basic management training, and learn about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Management
  • Work effectively with store management and staff.
  • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
Customer Service
  • Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints.
  • Promote CVS's customer service culture (greeting, helping, thanking).
  • Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and effective communication.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail experience.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 29
  • Employment type: Part-time
  • Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
