Job summary

American Packaging Corporation (APC) is seeking a production supervisor in Rochester, NY. The role focuses on directly supervising production employees, directing work, and ensuring compliance with company policies and laws.

You will lead safety initiatives and improve manufacturing processes across shifts. The successful candidate will train staff, manage performance, resolve problems, and coordinate with maintenance for run readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent degree is not required; an associate degree with related experience is acceptable.
• Ability to train and direct production staff, manage performance, and handle employee relations.
• Strong reading, writing, and procedural documentation skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises production employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities following policies and laws.
• Lead safety efforts throughout all departments in manufacturing and participate in safety programs.
• Coordinate with maintenance on work orders and PMs; review safety, maintenance, and production metrics.
• Respond to employee issues, conduct training, and ensure proper execution of procedures.
• Sign off on run sheets, manage shift reporting, and oversee 5S and process improvements.
