Job summary

MAT Holdings, Inc. in Shannon, Mississippi is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee inbound warehouse operations, manage a team of associates, and ensure accurate, safe processing of incoming shipments. You'll coordinate with receiving, inventory, and maintenance to optimize flow, maintain records, and meet schedules.

Knowledge of SAP and RF scanners is required; forklift license is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year experience in supervisory role.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license through the Company.
• Bilingual – English & Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees inbound receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of incoming shipments.
• Reviews inbound purchase orders and receiving docs to determine priorities and methods.
• Directs movement of inbound shipments from receiving dock to staging, storage, and reserve areas.
• Coordinates with inventory control and other departments to optimize workflow and maintain records.
• Monitors and enforces safety rules and company policies in the inbound area.

Job Description

The Shift Supervisor for the inbound warehouse oversees the daily operations of receiving and processing incoming shipments. This role includes managing a team of warehouse associates, ensuring that all products are handled efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies. The supervisor will coordinate with various departments to optimize workflow, monitor inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of incoming stock.

• Reviews inbound purchase orders, advance ship notices (ASNs), bills of lading, and receiving documentation to determine receiving priorities, work assignments, and methods required to meet inbound schedules, utilizing knowledge of receiving procedures and inventory systems
• Oversees all inbound receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of incoming shipments
• Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out the position of shipment
• Determines staging and put-away locations for inbound freight and coordinates efficient product flow from the receiving dock to storage areas
• Inspects unloading operations to ensure compliance with inbound receiving specifications and company standards
• Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facilities for repair
• Directs movement of inbound shipments from the receiving dock to staging, storage, and reserve areas
• Issues written and oral instructions to receiving associates to ensure daily workload completion
• Studies and standardizes receiving procedures to improve efficiency and throughput of subordinates
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances in a timely and professional manner
• Prepares composite performance and productivity reports from individual associate dataIdentifies and resolves receiving discrepancies, overages, shortages, and damaged freight
• Understands and applies Company policies and procedures consistently across the team
• Maintains good housekeeping in the inbound area and adheres to established Company safety policies at all times
• Responsible for the adherence and execution of standardized inbound receiving procedures
• Responsible for the correction and accuracy of all work performed under their supervision
• Monitors and tracks key inbound metrics, including units per hour (UPH), dock-to-stock time, and receiving accuracy
• Coordinates with the inventory control team to ensure proper reconciliation of received purchase orders
• Communicates inbound volume, staffing needs, and operational challenges to the Inbound Manager
• Serves as an example to subordinates and enforces all applicable safety rules
• SAP and RF scanner experience required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• 1+ year experience in supervisory role
• Must be able to obtain forklift license through the Company
• Bilingual – English & Spanish speaking preferred
