Job description

AutoZone's Full-Time Shift Supervisors assist the Store Manager in leading company initiatives and ensuring maximum productivity. They are responsible for training high-performing AutoZoners in a safe environment, driving sales, controlling expenses and shrink, and remaining compliant with company procedures according to AutoZone’s expectations. Shift Supervisors aim to exceed customer expectations by delivering a WOW! Customer shopping experience on assigned shifts by Living the Pledge every day.

Position Responsibilities

1. Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store personnel.
2. Assume responsibility for store operations and the commercial department in the absence of the Commercial Sales Manager and Store Manager, on assigned shifts.
3. Assist with managing the Commercial and Hub Departments (if applicable) to ensure service to commercial accounts and timely deliveries.
4. Delegate and ensure timely completion of store merchandising tasks.
5. Operate cash registers following established cash handling procedures, including deposits, petty cash, and lane accountability.
6. Ensure all company policies and loss prevention procedures are followed.
7. Utilize ZNET to help customers locate merchandise or find suitable alternatives.
8. Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring AutoZoners implement safety practices including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
9. Monitor cash flow, inventory, and security controls.
10. Maintain sales productivity, store appearance, and merchandising standards.
11. Conduct and review all opening and closing procedures.
12. Manage emergency situations and conduct proper emergency procedures.
13. Follow proper accident procedures.
14. Provide feedback on AutoZoner performance to the store manager.
15. Assist in monitoring and managing activities related to Risk & Safety Management to maintain a safe work environment.
16. Address customer concerns and resolve them with the goal of turning complaints into compliments.
17. Process returns and manage inventory effectively.
18. Communicate AutoZoner issues and concerns to the Store Manager in a timely and confidential manner.
19. Motivate AutoZoners to provide WOW! Customer Service, enhance productivity, and market products to increase sales and profits.

Position Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. ASE Certified (preferred).
3. Demonstrates high integrity.
4. Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
5. Ability to drive customer service.
