Qualifications

• Three years in a criminal justice field, including two in supervision.
• Additional education may substitute for experience.
• Completion of basic pre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, a licensed security officer.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of correctional facility management, laws, rules and supervision principles.
• Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise security staff and inmates on the shift.
• Ensure adequate staffing and fill gaps during shortages.
• Engage in recruiting, hiring and staff orientation.
• Advise on personnel matters and assist in managing resources.
