Job description

We are the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.

Enviva is seeking a Shift Supervisor to perform the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the woodyard delivering key performance indicators (safety, quality, production and cost).
  • Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability to drive performance.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is established and maintained.
  • Provide direction to team regarding duties and goals.
  • Insure paperwork is completed timely and accurately.
  • Insure daily and consistent communications and shift meetings.
  • Perform work assigned by Production Manager to ensure successful operation.
  • Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability to drive performance.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent education; community college or bachelor's degree preferred.

Two (2) - Three (3) years industrial/manufacturing experience/wood products background.

Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.

Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be a team player/previous management a plus.

Lean Manufacturing proficiency.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
  • Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
