Job summary

Children's Rescue Fund in New York, NY seeks a full-time Shift/Safety Supervisor to oversee Safety Monitors, enforce shelter rules, and coordinate incident response.

You will supervise staff, conduct drills, manage daily logs, and liaise with DHS/CARE systems, ensuring safety and civility for clients, visitors, and staff.

This role requires licensure, CPR, and a valid NY driver's license, with prior supervisory security experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Security license.
• Must possess an F80 certification.
• Must possess CPR certification.
• NYS Driver's license required.
• Two years of Supervisory experience in commercial/residential security or five years as a Private/Personal Security Officer.
• Must have good communication skills, experience working with women and children.
• Exhibits superior professionalism at all times, even under pressure.
• Must successfully complete background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Safety Monitors and ensures all safety and security duties are performed as per agency protocol.
• Conducts fire drills and documents results.
• Responds to incidents and follows DHS and agency protocols in responding to and documenting incidents.
• Reports incidents of Child Abuse to the state Central Registry.
• Interacts with HERO and provides updates on unit vacancies and occupancies; accepts referrals and conducts initial intake of new families upon arrival to the facility.
• Answers facility phone and directs calls.
• Ensures Safety Monitors patrols and monitor the CCTV camera system and report observations.
• Assists Safety Monitors in ensuring clients follow shelter rules while in the facility.
• Trains Safety Monitors in security measures and recommends changes in procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

• Prepares/conductsEmployeeAppraisalEvaluationsinatimelyandthoroughmanner.
• PreparesandauditsIncident/AccidentReports.
• Maintainandschedulevansdailyusage.
• CompletesendofshiftreportsandemailsreporttoManagerofOperations, theProgram Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
• CompletesendofshiftreportsandemailsreporttoManagerofOperations, theProgram Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
• Overseeandsupervise department staffintheutilization oftheDHSClient Assistance andRe-housingSystem(CARES)SystemregardingIntakeCheck-In,IncidentReports, and Facility Bed Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• MustpossessSecuritylicense.
• MustpossessanF80.
• MustpossesscurrentCPRcertification.
• NYS Driver'slicense required.
• Two(2)yearsofSupervisory experienceincommercial/residentialsecurityorlaw enforcement, orFive(5)years' experience asaPrivate/PersonalSecurity Officer.
• Mustgavegoodcommunicationskills,experienceworkingwithwomenandchildren.
• Exhibitsuperiorprofessionalismatalltimes,evenwhenunderpressureorexperiencing challenges with the clients.
