Qualifications

  • Must have 1-year prior experience completing performance appraisals, facilitating disciplinary processes, providing coaching/feedback and interview/selection of candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors staff and records to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinates and directs Youth Care Workers to ensure quality of care and supervision to children.
  • Oversees care, activity and safety of children during transitions, meals, recreation and transport.
  • Maintains UC case file and ORR Database per policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assists in the implementation and execution of procedures and protocol for efficient program functioning and utilization to include:
    • Executed admission and discharge of children per Agency policies
    • Charts on-going observation of children’s behaviors
    • Administers and documents medications as prescribed on medication logs
    • Reports all emergencies, concerns of children and building needs to the appropriate parties
    • Available for on-call emergencies 24/7
  • Ensures that assigned shift follows Agency guidelines and policies, monitors staff and records to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for assigned personnel activities in this program, which may include, but not be limited to:
    • Interview and selection of employees
    • Evaluation of employee performance
    • Coordinates and directs Youth Care Workers to ensure quality of care and supervision to children.
  • Attends and participates in Agency related meetings and trainings as appropriate.
  • Oversees care, activity and safety of children to include:
    • Assists during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another
    • Interacts with children in an appropriate manner, including games or during recreational time
    • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all children
    • Maintains safety, security and supervision of children by maintaining line of site at all times.
    • Provides oversight during recreation, mealtime, relaxing time, and play.
  • Maintains the UC case file and ORR Database in accordance with ORR policies and procedures
  • Participates as assigned in Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Reports all emergencies, concerns of children and building needs to the appropriate parties
  • Physical demands are frequently utilized on a routine and ongoing basis, employee will engage in any and all activities with children in their care including but not limited to:
    • Walking, jumping, running, bending, stooping, playing, sitting, swimming, climbing.
    • Off site activities that may include sporting events, fairs, the zoo, concerts, movies and shows.
  • Models Center’s expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness.
QualificationsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Education must consist of a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have experience in word processing in a Windows environment.
  • Must have at least 1-year prior supervisory experience, preferably in a shelter or group home setting.
  • Must have 1-year prior experience completing performance appraisals, facilitating disciplinary processes, providing coaching/feedback and interview/selection of candidates.
  • Must be able to obtain Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card immediately upon hire (if there are any uncertainties whether an applicant may have to go through an appeal process: they are encouraged to complete that process prior to applying, as an invalid card will result in termination of employment)
  • Must have 2 years experience meeting the basic needs of children.
  • Must have valid Arizona Driver’s license, exhibit the ability to operate Agency vans and/or vehicles safely and be able to be added to Agency auto policy.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to display verbal and written communication skills that meet the requirements of the position and needs of clients.
  • English / Spanish bilingual capabilities required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the effective use of tone and words
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and a positive rapport with service population
  • Strong writing skills with proficient use of Word, Excel, and Outlook
