Job summary

Sasol (USA) Corporation seeks a Production Shift Supervisor to lead hourly personnel in the Production Department for safe, quality, and efficient execution of plans to ensure product availability. You will monitor plant operations and direct corrective actions with guidance from management.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Maintenance, QC, and production support groups, implementing schedules, training staff, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of frontline shift supervision experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Fluent in English with strong communication and organization.
• Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform recordkeeping and measurement of process variables, material handling, and logistics.
• Complete a daily shift report reflecting the activities of the shift.
• Review production logs and records for monitoring plant performance and submit for recordkeeping at end of run.
• Implement production plans according to approved schedules.
• Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action with guidance from management.
• Responsible for timely collection and submission of samples to QC lab and following up on results to make process changes to meet specifications.
• Responsible for filling out call out form and reviewing hourly timesheet for accuracy before approving.
• Responsible for training new and current employees by on-the-job training and ensuring reports are trained on procedures.
• Ownership of general work permit issuance and closure.
• Drive daily housekeeping to improve safety and prevent cross-contamination.
• Stock up operational and safety supplies for the operations personnel.
• Perform duties assigned by production superintendent.

Purpose of Job

This position supervises and directs the activities of hourly personnel in the Production Department for the safe, quality, and efficient execution of production plans to ensure availability of sufficient products to meet sales. Monitors plant operation and directs corrective action when plant upsets or nonconforming product occur, seeking guidance when necessary. Responsible for compliance with SHE, quality, and HR policies that relate to plant operations, product quality, and managing direct reports. Drives continuous improvement in operating procedures and plant equipment to maximize efficiency and productivity. Maintains certain records of plant equipment and operations. Communicates on a daily basis with Maintenance, the QC Laboratory, and production support groups to prioritize activities and guidance to meeting production targets.

• Perform duties assigned by production superintendent.

Formal Education

• High School Diploma/GED

Working Experience

• 2-5 years experience as a frontline shift supervisor in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Required Personal and Professional Skills

• Proficiency in native-level English.
• Must have strong organizational, communication, and change management skills.
• Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suits (Work, Excel, Outlook )
• SAP knowledge.
