Description

As the Production Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily management and oversight of production processes and personnel. You will ensure that personnel are performing duties according to sound operating principles and that all production activities comply with company policies and procedures. With a focus on safety, quality, and integrity, you will ensure the production team meets established performance goals and maintains proficiency in processes and resources.

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

The Production Shift Supervisor must successfully collaborate with various departments within the organization to achieve high level goals. For example, collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality and Planning departments to ensure safety, quality and performance standards are met. You will also collaborate with HR to adequately hire, staff and schedule production employees.

The ideal candidate will be able to look at the big picture of our production processes to study operations and identify areas of improvement to meet cost standards, while maintaining close supervision of employees and practices during daily production tasks. This position requires strong personal leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and time management. A high school diploma or equivalent plus some college or mechanical/tech training are preferred, in addition to two or more years of supervisory experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review daily production schedule, plan work and personnel assignments and clearly delegate tasks
  • Supervise and develop teamwork attitude among assigned personnel to meet performance goals
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety policies
  • Maintain adherence to customer specifications and utilize PAC's Quality Management
  • System for handling deviations.
  • Maintain team member proficiency by utilizing the Learning & Development processes and resources.
  • Strategically plan and collaborate with Human Resources to adequately staff for current and future production personnel needs.
  • Interview applicants for department jobs and recommend the best candidates. Assist with orientation of new hires and their safety training
  • Maintain approachability with all employees at all levels. Conduct introductory and annual performance reviews of each department employee and recommend performance increases, retraining, transfer, or termination.
  • Communicate applicable updates and metrics to appropriate Department Managers.
  • Anticipate and determines causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate action to meet schedule completion.
  • Conduct oneself ethically and in compliance with all company employee relations policies in all dealings with employees while upholding company values
  • Empower others to study operations where cost standards are not being met, communicates the bigger picture, and encourages employees to determine causes and to apply corrective measures.

Education
  • High school diploma required; some college (mechanical technology or related field) preferred

  • Must possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and follow-up with a strong sense of urgency and time management skills
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training
  • Two or more years of lead/supervisory experience
