Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Shift Supervisor for the Dixie Products facility in Darlington, SC. The role leads a production team of about 30 on a rotating 12-hour schedule, driving safety, quality, and efficiency on each shift.

You will guide team members, partner with leaders and L&D, and work with engineers to improve equipment and processes. A strong background in supervisory roles within manufacturing and solid MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least one (3) year of experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial operations environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and ability to learn other business software such as SAP and ICPAQs.
• Ability and willingness to work a twelve (12) hour rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Establish strong commitments to Safe Quality Food culture and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Connect individual team members to the overall vision and help them develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to deliver on key department metrics.
• Partner with group leaders and leverage Learning & Development (L&D) and other resources to address skill gaps and build operating capability on shift.
• Collaborate with department leaders, manufacturing engineers, and other support functions to improve equipment/processes and build operating capabilities.
• Establish shift priorities aligned with the site vision and current business objectives.
• Manage shift performance metrics (e.g., safety, environmental, quality, overtime, staffing to plan, OEE, waste, etc.).
• Work with team members to understand critical hazards and risks to safety/product quality, evaluate the effectiveness of controls, and resolve issues.
• Apply sound economic thinking to evaluate priorities and address operational issues.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one (3) year of experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial operations environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Direct experience as a supervisor of skilled and semi-skilled workforces.
• Experience with training, coaching, and managing people.
• Completion of post-high school education in Engineering.
• Prior experience working in paper and/or food-grade manufacturing.
