Job summary

ThermoSafe in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Shift Supervisor for the 3rd shift to lead a high-performance team focused on safety, quality and productivity. You will report to the Production Manager and drive improvements across manufacturing processes.

Requirements include a four-year degree or equivalent, 3+ years of manufacturing experience with 2+ years in a leadership role and excellent written and verbal communication skills. DOE base salary with bonus potential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all employees and lead a comprehensive safety program.
• Hire, train, direct and mentor staff on 3rd shift.
• Develop subordinates through education, training and teamwork.
• Meet or exceed plant productivity, cost or other performance metric expectations as outlined by production manager.
• Identify, propose and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling to meet production demands and manage overtime and costs.
• Ensure employees complete required safety and quality checks and audits.
• Maintain preventive maintenance program and coordinate plant equipment maintenance and repair.
• Support machine installation or removal as needed.
• Build productive employee relationships and provide coaching or discipline as needed.

Shift Supervisor – 3rd shift

Position Summary

While reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, cost performance, and employee relations in a high performance work team environment for the assigned shift. The job demands monitoring production performance and implementing processes, procedures, and methods to improve results in all key functional areas. The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all employees, lead a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries. Comply with all federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations (EPA, SOHA, etc.)
• Hire, train, direct and mentor staff on 3rd shift.
• Develop subordinates through education, training and teamwork.
• May assist in preparation of annual plant operating budget. Meet or exceed plant productivity, cost, or other performance metric expectations as outlined by production manager.
• May identify, propose and implement capital projects to improve operational performance as needed.
• May be responsible for coordinating maintenance scheduling to meet production demands, to manage overtime, and to reduce costs.
• Ensure employees complete required safety and quality checks and audits.
• Ensure preventive maintenance program is maintained and reviewed periodically for improvements and/or upgrades as needed.
• Work with Maintenance Manager to coordinate plant equipment maintenance and repair.
• Support machine installation or removal as needed.
• Build and maintain productive employee relationships, driving employee satisfaction. Provide coaching, counseling, or discipline as needed. Recommend disciplinary action to production manager and review disciplinary actions for effectiveness and consistency.
• Work with HR to address employee concerns and issues.

Compensation

The annual base salary for this role is $79,100 - $90,400 DOE + quarterly target bonus.
