Job summary

Precoat Metals is seeking a shift supervisor to lead production workers and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will coordinate daily activities, inspect processes, and collaborate with maintenance and shipping to meet production goals.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and mechanical aptitude, with flexibility for afternoon or night shifts and longer hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a plant environment.
• HS Diploma or equivalent; college degree a plus.
• Process control experience is a plus.
• Steel, slitting, coil coating, and other steel experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication & leadership abilities.
• Willing to work afternoon or night shift and long hours.
• Ability to train, motivate, and direct production employees.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of production workers on shift.
• Ensure safety, quality, production, shipping & receiving, and maintenance on shift.
• Inspect products and adjust machines to meet specifications.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker hours required to complete jobs.
• Establish or adjust procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance & quality.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
• Document shift incidents and accidents; coordinate with other departments.
