Job summary

Precoat Metals Corp in Indiana seeks a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day shift activities, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery. You will supervise and coordinate production workers, monitor performance and maintain documentation to meet customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to train and motivate staff, and flexibility to work afternoon or night shifts in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years in a plant environment.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required. College degree a plus.
• Process control experience a plus.
• Steel, slitting, coil coating, and other steel related experience strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to train, motivate, and direct production employees.
• Ability to work long & irregular hours in response to customer demands and production matters.
• Willing and able to work an afternoon or night shift position
• Excellent communication & leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Using your continuous improvement mindset, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance & quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work issues and assists & coaches employees in solving work problems.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Collaborates with other management to coordinate production activities with other departments.
• Responsible for documenting shift incidents and accidents
