Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Shift Process Engineer to advance assembly processes in a fast-paced development environment. You will investigate process issues, use data to drive decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve yield, quality, and operational performance.

You will apply failure analysis, SPC, and AI-enabled tools to diagnose problems, monitor trends, and evaluate process changes, materials, and vendor solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Experience analyzing data to solve technical problems and drive process improvements.
  • Knowledge of SPC principles and process control methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools such as Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar applications.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve process issues using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and FDC.
  • Analyze process and manufacturing data to improve yield, product quality, and cost performance.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, suppliers, and global sites to optimize process performance.
  • Monitor process trends and implement improvements to increase process capability and equipment effectiveness.
  • Support evaluation and qualification of process changes, materials, and vendor solutions.

As a Shift Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and improving assembly processes within a fast-paced development environment. You will investigate process issues, use data to drive decisions, and work with cross-functional teams to improve yield, quality, and operational performance. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on process capability while collaborating with teams across Micron's global network.

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve process issues using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and FDC methodologies

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field
  • Experience analyzing data to solve technical problems and drive process improvements
  • Knowledge of SPC principles and process control methodologies
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively across diverse audiences
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools such as Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and process equipment
  • Knowledge of FMEA, 8D, FDC, APC, RMS, or related manufacturing systems
  • Understanding of gas behavior, chemical reactions, and their impact on manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools
