Purpose:

The purpose of the Manager I (MGRI) position is to assist Branch management in executing QSR or similar restaurant management operations. The MGRI ensures the restaurant is clean, ready for business, staffed, and operates to high standards. The MGRI uses policies and procedures to make management decisions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Completes opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies.
  2. Assists the AGM/GM in managing by supervising day-to-day activities of associates within a restaurant or points-of-sale.
  3. Participates in the interview process, provides input on hiring, recommends termination, promotion, or other status changes to the GM.
  4. Assigns work tasks, participates in scheduling, and ensures all shifts are covered.
  5. Ensures associates take mandated rest breaks and meal periods.
  6. Maintains display areas to be clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
  7. Ensures equipment is in good working order.
  8. Operates cash register, handles transactions following policies, and maintains cash security.
  9. Monitors compliance with wellness and safety procedures, reports safety concerns.
  10. Performs health and safety activities as specified in the Manager’s Guide.
  11. Places orders, receives goods, processes invoices.
  12. Ensures current contact information for all associates.

Requirements:

  1. Ability to work shifts during various operating days and hours, including opening, busy day parts, and closing.
  2. Knowledge of applicable sanitary, safety, and health standards, and HACCP procedures.

Reporting relationship and other important information:

  1. The MGRI is a Non-Exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  2. Typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager.
  3. Expected to work a varied schedule, including opening, busy, and closing shifts.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  1. Minimum of 2 years food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
  2. Minimum of 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or kitchen.
  3. Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions and policies; communicate comfortably with customers.
