Purpose:

The purpose of the Manager I (MGRI) position is to assist Branch management in executing QSR or similar restaurant management operations. The MGRI ensures the restaurant is clean, ready for business, staffed, and operates to high standards. The MGRI makes management decisions based on prescribed policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Completes opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists following company policies
  • Assists the AGM/GM by supervising daily activities of associates within designated restaurants or points-of-sale
  • Participates in hiring, provides input on promotions, terminations, and other associate status changes to the GM
  • Assigns tasks, prepares schedules, and ensures shifts are covered
  • Ensures associates take mandated rest breaks and meal periods
  • Maintains display areas to be clean, stocked, and visually appealing
  • Ensures all equipment functions properly
  • Operates cash register, processes transactions, and follows cash handling policies
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures, reports concerns to the GM
  • Performs Health and Safety activities as per the Manager’s Guide
  • Places orders, receives goods, processes invoices
  • Maintains current contact information for all associates

Requirements:

  • Ability to work varied shifts during operating hours, including opening, busy periods, and closing
  • Knowledge of sanitary, safety, and health standards, including HACCP procedures

Reporting relationship:

  • The MGRI is a Non-Exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager

The MGRI must work a rotating schedule to cover various shifts as needed.
