Job summary

Resorts World Hudson Valley is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee multi-trade work (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting) and ensure safe, timely operations. You will recruit, train and coach staff, conduct annual reviews, and report department progress to management.

Your role requires leadership, strong communication, and solid knowledge of building systems. You’ll manage keys, inventory and guest-focused service in a hospitality setting, with variable shifts.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff in a hospitality or facilities setting.
  • Ability to recruit, train, coach and evaluate employees.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing and kitchen mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee work orders across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
  • Promote and enforce safety practices within the department.
  • Lead recruiting, training, recognition and coaching of personnel.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for department staff.
  • Prepare progress reports for senior management and manage keys/inventory.
  • Respond to emergencies per procedures and coordinate team resources.
  • Ensure consistent quality and guest-focused presentation of all products.
  • Mentor staff and implement new best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of facility operations and enforce attendance policies.
  • Demonstrate guest-centric service and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Job description

Essential Duties/Core Competencies:
  • During assigned shift, ensures all work order requests relate to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and other assigned areas are completed properly and timely to meet safety and service standards.
  • Promotes and enforces safety practices and procedures within the department.
  • Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, counseling and other personnel related matters are being handled appropriately throughout the departments.
  • Facilitates and ensures that performance reviews of all employees within department are complete on a yearly basis.
  • Prepares reports of department progress or as required by senior management.
  • Responsible for the security of all keys issued, key in inventory, keys destroyed, and keys turned in by other employees during assigned shift.
  • Responds to all emergencies per established procedures, provide expertise, directs team members and resources in the event of an emergency during assigned shift.
  • Responsible for quality consistent presentation of all products delivered to guest.
  • Assists in training, motivating and supervises staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established job requirements.
  • Implementation of new or improved best practices or procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of all aspects of the facilities on property.
  • Schedules of department and enforces attendance policies.
  • Ensures that all work is done with care and no damage occurs.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

  • Familiarity w/ building systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Kitchen Mechanics, etc.

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least twenty-five (25) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and group situations.
