$80,000 - $90,000 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shift Manager will oversee a team of production operators, actively monitor and document performance, ensure compliance with quality standards, maintain a safe work environment, and drive continuous improvement in operational processes. This position reports to the Production Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support while communicating goals and results to the team, ensuring team members are held accountable for meeting and exceeding performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, deliver timely feedback and guidance, and champion employee growth and development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality and overall production performance.
  • Analyze production data to track efficiency, cost, and quality metrics, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Think strategically, analyze, and implement positive changes to the production floor.
  • Lead safety meetings and promote a safe work environment on the production floor.
  • Promote cohesion between team members and lead by example.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of all production activities.
  • Communicate maintenance needs and product quality concerns.
  • Eliminate unwarranted production downtime and minimize quarantine and scrap.
  • Address, mediate, and resolve conflicts among employees.
  • Consult and collaborate with HR when addressing employee disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure that all team members follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to and maintain production schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet operational goals.
  • Other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, or an associate or bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment operation, and maintenance.
  • Open to working beyond regular hours for company needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.).
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
  • This role operates in a facility without climate control, meaning exposure to varying temperatures based on seasonal conditions.
