Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Shift Manager to lead the daily activities of the site operations team, focusing on safety and quality. The role reports to the Automation General Manager within Customer Operations and partners with onsite customers to drive excellence in operation.

You will manage a hybrid of hourly and salaried staff, implement SOPs, and ensure staffing, training, and development to meet operating needs.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in management and operations manufacturing or related field.
• Strong knowledge of automation, warehousing, and business processes.
• Leadership skills with ability to motivate cross-functional or cross-facility groups.
• Regularly interacts with executives and customers to influence and drive operational excellence.
• Ability to work independently following maintenance procedures and manuals.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that safety commitments in compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer processes are met daily.
• Manage a team of hourly and salaried employees to support customer hours of operations.
• Execute standard operating procedures to drive performance enhancements, adjusting to changing business conditions as required.
• Staffing of all functions for the established operating pattern, training and development of employees, setting goals and objectives.
• Evaluate performance by preparing performance reviews.
• Coach the team to respond to issues/problems in the system and develop standards, processes, and documentation.
• Train and enhance performance of team members; regularly assess performance and motivate to exceed customer expectations.
• Communicate with local customer management and Symbotic headquarters teams.
• Monitor system performance, report trends, and present solutions.
• Monitor and provide defined KPI reporting based on contractual agreements.
• Conduct accident investigations per company guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Whatyou’lldo

Coach the team to respond effectively to issues/problems in the system. Develop standards,

processes,proceduresand documentation for dealing with specific problems.

Train and enhance the performance of the team members. Regularly assessthe performanceof team members. Train and motivate employees to exceed customer expectations.

Communicate regulary with the local customer management team as well as the teams atSymboticheadquarters.

Monitor system performance, report on trends ofproblemsand present solutions.

There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You maybe requiredto routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.

You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.

Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

AT times you may be at a construction site with PPErequired(hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).

Frequent ability tosafely and efficiently lift items weighingup to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.

Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and isfrequentlyrequiredto walk and reach with hands and arms.

The employeeis routinely required towork at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Where you may need to be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Mustcomply withall safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag
out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
