FLSA status: Non-Exempt - Hourly

Position Overview

A Shift Leader at Ambrosia QSR is a variable hour employee responsible for managing specific shifts, ensuring guest satisfaction, team coordination, and safety in the restaurant. They work during peak hours, are proficient in all team roles, and can operate safely in a manager’s absence. Responsibilities vary based on restaurant needs.

Job Responsibilities
Profitability
  • Ensure all food and beverage orders follow recipes and are accurately recorded in the POS system.
  • Organize shift readiness, assign team members, and manage waste and prep to control costs.
  • Operate equipment safely, troubleshoot minor issues, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Follow cash handling policies.
Guests
  • Greet guests warmly and promptly.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience; resolve issues positively.
  • Inspect the restaurant environment and engage with guests.
  • Promote excellent customer service and handle complaints when managers are absent.
Team
  • Train and develop staff according to company plans.
  • Ensure staff take proper breaks and are fit for duty.
  • Report employee and guest concerns immediately.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment.
Operations
  • Manage food safety and safety procedures.
  • Implement marketing and promotional plans.
  • Monitor team interactions and provide coaching as needed.
  • Address equipment issues and ensure operational standards.
  • Communicate with management and supervise on-shift staff.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Proficient with computers and communication.
  • Responsible, punctual, respectful, and energetic.
  • Problem-solving skills in collaboration with leaders.
Education and Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Serv Safe and Sexual Harassment Certificates required.
  • Completed shift control training validated by management.
  • External hires: 6+ months food/retail lead experience preferred.
  • Experience with POS systems is a plus.
Tools and Equipment
  • Kitchen appliances, slicers, beverage machines, POS systems, janitorial supplies.
