Job summary

Tazik i’s Mediterranean Cafe is a fast-casual restaurant seeking motivated team members in Madison, AL. You will welcome guests, help prepare orders, and ensure top-notch food safety and recipe accuracy.

Shift duties include coaching the team, managing line activity, and handling Take‑Out and online orders, while you assist with PM prep and tomorrow’s prep sheets to set up the next day for success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Leadership, guest service, and verbal communication skills with guests and team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to the policies and procedures.

• Must have or obtain a Food Manager’s certification shortly after beginning employment.

Responsibilities

• Serving guests and making meaningful connections with them.
• Opening and closing tasks.
• Being responsible for the restaurant when a manager isn’t on duty.
• Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your team about their duties.
• Mastering menu and product knowledge.
• Supporting or working stations when needed (kitchen included).
• Prepping food and doing side work.
• Following proper cash handling and payment procedures.
• Maintaining Health Department Standards throughout each shift.
• Following proper Alcohol Handling policies and procedures.
• Proper food handling and storage of food products.
• Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance.

Job Summary

Each day at Taziki’s is a little different—part of what keeps it exciting! You might have an opening shift or a closing shift. For an opening shift, mornings are spent helping your prep crew ready the store for lunch service, preparing catering orders, and keeping a close eye on food safety practices and recipe perfection. You gather your team before the doors open, catch them up on the newest Taziki’s updates, and help guests take out orders—getting to know them by name. During the afternoons, you manage shift change, help on the line, prepare PM prep sheets, and look ahead at dinner orders coming in online. If you’re working a PM shift, once you check the state of your team’s stations, you help the team push through busy online ordering hours for Take‑Out dinners while serving Dine‑In guests. As the shift winds down, you use your evening counts and tomorrow’s catering orders to make prep sheets for the AM team, setting them up for another successful day.

Working Conditions / Hours

A typical work day may look like one of the following:

• Morning shift – 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Evening shift – 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Weekends – when applicable
• Holidays – when applicable (CLOSED Thanksgiving & Christmas)

Hours will vary by store. You may work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment, which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a flattop, char grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor.
