Position Overview
A Shift Leader at Ambrosia QSR is responsible for overseeing specific restaurant operations during designated shifts, ensuring guest satisfaction, team performance, and safety. They work front-of-house during peak hours, are proficient in all team roles, and can handle operations safely in a manager's absence. Responsibilities vary based on restaurant needs.
Job Responsibilities
Profitability
- Ensure food orders, specialty drinks, and desserts follow recipes and are accurately recorded in the POS system.
- Prepare for shifts, assign team members to meet sales demands, and manage waste and prep to control costs.
- Operate equipment properly, troubleshoot minor issues, and report unsafe or non-functional equipment. Ensure safety equipment is used.
- Follow cash handling policies.
Guests
- Greet guests with friendliness and urgency.
- Ensure every guest has an exceptional experience; resolve issues positively.
- Inspect all areas of the restaurant and engage with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Promote excellent customer service and handle guest complaints when managers are absent.
Team
- Train and develop staff following company systems.
- Ensure staff take breaks and work within health guidelines.
- Report and address sick or unfit employees.
- Report complaints promptly and promote a safe, inclusive work environment.
Operations
- Manage food safety and safety procedures.
- Implement marketing plans and promotions.
- Use headsets to monitor team interactions and provide coaching.
- Handle basic equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate with management and supervise staff on shift.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Pass a background check.
- Proficient with computers and communication.
- Responsible, punctual, respectful, energetic, empathetic.
- Problem-solving skills in collaboration with restaurant leaders.
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Serv Safe and Sexual Harassment Certificates required.
- Shift control training validated by management.
- At least 6 months of food/retail lead experience for external hires.
- Experience with POS systems preferred.
Tools and Equipment
- Kitchen appliances, slicers, beverage machines, POS systems, janitorial supplies.
