Position Overview
A Shift Leader is a variable hour Ambrosia QSR employee responsible for overseeing specific shifts in restaurant operations. Job Responsibilities
Profitability
- Ensure food orders, specialty drinks, and desserts follow recipes and are accurately recorded in the POS system.
- Prepare for shifts and assign team members to meet sales demands, managing waste and prep systems to control expenses.
- Use equipment properly, troubleshoot minor issues, and report unsafe or non-working equipment immediately.
- Follow cash handling policies.
Guests
- Greet guests with friendliness and urgency.
- Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve issues positively.
- Inspect the restaurant environment and interact with guests to ensure a quality experience.
- Handle guest complaints in the absence of management.
Team
- Train and develop staff according to training plans.
- Manage employee breaks and health considerations.
- Report employee or guest complaints immediately.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free work environment.
Operations
- Manage food safety and safety procedures.
- Implement marketing and promotional plans.
- Monitor team interactions with guests and provide coaching as needed.
- Address equipment issues and ensure operational standards.
- Communicate with management and supervise on-shift personnel.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Pass criminal background check.
- Basic computer skills and effective communication.
- Personal responsibility, punctuality, respect, and leadership qualities.
- Problem-solving abilities aligned with business needs.
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Serv Safe and Sexual Harassment Certificates required.
- Shift control training validated by management.
- External hires: 6+ months food/retail lead experience preferred.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus.
Tools and Equipment
- Kitchen equipment: toasters, fryers, ovens, microwaves, etc.
- Beverage machines and POS systems.
- Cleaning supplies and safety gear.
