We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is which is $24.00 to $30.00 per hour, plus 6% shift differential and 6% shift leader differential. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 5% of eligible earnings based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $59,000 to $72,000. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

  • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
  • Shift Differential (12-Hour Rotating Shift Differential - 6% of base wages)

Shift hours: This position requires flexibility. Though this position will generally work a 12-hour rotating shift, this individual must be able to work on any shift as assigned and overtime as may be required. Shifts and overtime are subject to change and based upon business conditions. Willingness to work overtime is required and at times on short notice.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Continuous Shift Leader supervises the production workforce and interacts closely with all functions to achieve plant goals and objectives. This position coordinates with the Production Manager and the other Shift Leaders to ensure the completion of production needs/schedules and quality standards. They must carry out instructions accurately and dependably, and bring forth observations, difficulties, and suggestions to the attention of management.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directs employees on shift to assigned and designated areas to achieve a safe and efficient operation
  • Responsible for the shift to meet production targets within cost and quality standards
  • Monitor’s operators’ performance - including recognizing high performers and coaching low performers
  • Responsible to maintain satisfactory employee relations through the application of the Company policies and procedures
  • Responsible to enforce Company rules and escalate violations to the Production Manager in a timely manner
  • Records incidents & completes accident reports; responsible for all Company property during shift
  • Must utilize the shift book and production schedule to report, as well as complete a thorough shift hand-off between shifts
  • Must work together as a team to focus on continuous improvement
  • Safety mentor -- conveys to employees by example; discusses safety with employees on every shift; addresses unsafe conditions/potential hazards immediately; inspects often, inspects intelligently, and follows up; ensures all employees on shift are following safety-related policies and procedures, as well as proper and safe operation of all equipment
  • Reliability is a key pillar of being the shift lead. Team members are trusting that you will be on-time and ready for your shifts. If you are unable to report for your shift, you must communicate to management immediately and help to fill any gaps created. If you are the on-shift leader in the event of an incoming shift leaders call in, you are expected to make sure the oncoming shift is safe and has direction prior to leaving.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires High School/GED diploma
  • Must have the ability to direct and train others on shift how to operate equipment
  • Must have demonstrated exemplary work ethic, including without supervision. Must demonstrate the Principles of Conduct & Action, Saint-Gobain Attitudes, and maintain the Rules of Conduct.
  • Must have leadership skills and able to coach employees with undesirable behavior, in conjunction with Manager. Must maintain good employee relations by equitable applicable of work rules, consistency and open communication with all employees.
  • Must have problem solving skills, detail orientated, and mechanical aptitude
  • Must have clear and effective communication ability (written and verbal), including with all level of management
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record within past 12 months
  • Requires advanced level of knowledge of production processes, plant systems, plant capabilities, quality standards, and customer requirements
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, including QAD, MS Word, Access and Excel proficiency
  • Must have the ability to work under occasional pressure, good prioritization skills, work within deadlines, and make effective decisions
  • Must be a team player. Must interact with a variety of departments through integrity, share technical knowledge, and lead by personal example.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance
  • Visual acuity correctly to perform job functions
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the plant floor, receiving, and outside perimeter of the facility including climbing stairs or working at heights
  • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions
  • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break

ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION

This position works a 12-hour rotating shift - and is a leadership designation in addition to the employee's current role (Senior Technician, Master Technician, etc.)
