Job summary

Wegmans, located in Village of Blasdell, NY, is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee our Pizza and Sub Shop, guiding a team to deliver fresh, great tasting meal solutions while providing the outstanding service customers expect. You will work in a fast-paced store environment and help elevate the in-store dining experience.

You will maintain product knowledge, ensure freshness, arrange displays, follow recipes, assist with orders and inventory, and help customers locate items with meal suggestions

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds frequently. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involved moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and hot equipment (exceeds 135 degrees). Basic tools and equipment used include pizza oven, warming oven, fryer, dough mixer, common cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment.; Food preparation experience; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
