Job summary

Hungry Howie’s in Tampa is seeking a motivated Shift Leader to oversee daily operations during designated shifts, supervise employees, and ensure customers receive outstanding service.

You will ensure that products are made according to recipes, promote a customer‑focused team culture, delegate tasks, handle cash, and report issues to management. The role requires managing a team and ensuring duties are performed accurately, contributing to smooth and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service and leadership presence.
• Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a restaurant environment.
• Desire to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
• Working knowledge of computers and basic software.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated Shift Leader to oversee daily operations during designated shifts,

supervise employees, and ensure that our customers receive outstanding service. The Shift Leader's responsibilities include ensuring that all products are made according to the recipe,

promoting a team culture that values customer service, delegating tasks, handling cash, and

reporting any issues to the manager. To be successful as a Shift Leader, you should be able to

manage a team of people and ensure that all duties are performed accurately. Ultimately, a top

Shift Leader should be able to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.

Shift Leader Responsibilities:

• Supervising employees and assigning duties.
• Monitoring team performance and ensuring duties are performed efficiently.
• Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to management.
• Managing employee requests and transgressions.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.
• Coaching team members and training new staff.
• Opening and closing registers, accounting for the daily inventory, and preparing cash deposits.
• Handling customer issues and employee disputes.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds by yourself
• Ability to frequently bend down, squat, reach above head, twist and kneel
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

Work environment

• Ability to handle rapid changes in ambient temperature. Environments can range from 90+ degrees Fahrenheit in kitchen to under 40 degrees Fahrenheit in the walk in cooler
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions present in Florida including but not limited to heavy rain, extreme heat, extreme humidity, outdoor allergens, and extreme winds.
• Conditions indoors could include exposure to frequent loud noises, fumes, chemicals found in cleaning products, and general kitchen odors.

Requirements:

Critical skills and abilities for Shift Leaders success:

• Model great customer service.
• Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a restaurant environment.
• Desire to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Enjoy working a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
