Shift Lead: Starbucks at Huntsville Hospital
Cup of Joe Cafes
Huntsville Hospital Cafeteria, Huntsville, AL
Lead the team that keeps the caregivers going.
Huntsville Hospital is one of Alabama's largest medical campuses, and our Starbucks in the cafeteria is where its doctors, nurses, staff, and visitors come to recharge. For a nurse on a long shift or a family waiting on news, the drink you hand them and the way you hand it to them matter. It's one of our highest-volume stores, and we're looking for Shift Leads who love leading a team through it.
What You’ll Do
- Run the floor. When the Store Manager is off-site, the shift is yours. You direct the team, read the line, and make the calls that keep things moving.
- Coach in the moment. Help baristas get drink craft right, rush after rush, and give real-time feedback that makes people better.
- Deploy your team smartly. Move people where they're needed as volume shifts through the day.
- Turn tough moments around. Handle guest concerns with confidence and care. In a hospital, a little patience and kindness goes a long way.
- Own the open or close. Cash handling, safe counts, and end-of-day reporting are done right, every time.
- Keep the store guest-ready. Inventory checks, cleaning standards, and stocking.
- Grow new partners. Train the people joining the team, and model the standards you expect.
- Keep your manager in the loop. Clear shift notes on team performance and anything operational.
You're a Great Fit If You
- Have 1+ year leading a team in food service, retail, or hospitality
- Lead from the floor and never ask your team to do something you wouldn't
- Get calmer, not louder, when the rush hits
- Are genuinely warm with guests and teammates. Hospitality isn't a script for you.
- Show up on time, every time, because you know the lead sets the tone
- Notice the details: a drink that's slightly off, a guest who's had a hard day, a teammate who needs a word of encouragement
- Are comfortable with POS systems, scheduling tools, and daily reporting
No Starbucks experience? That's fine. We can teach the craft; we can't teach the attitude.
