Job summary

Caribou Coffee is seeking a Shift Leader to guide store operations and drive guest satisfaction. You will manage the shift in partnership with store leadership, uphold SOPs, and engage the team to deliver high-quality service.

Responsibilities include coaching teammates, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring a positive, energetic store culture that aligns with Caribou values.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with focus on team engagement and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure SOPs and quality standards are followed consistently.
• Coach and develop Team Members and provide feedback.
• Perform administrative tasks (deposits, inventory, store orders) as assigned.

Position Overview

The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift.

• Think strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management

• Know the deployment for the day and the roles and responsibilities associated
• Consistently leverage effective communication on the floor during the shift
• Identify needs of team and guests and address situations before they become problematic
• Understand multiple priorities of the shift and effectively communicate and delegate objectives and tasks
• Takes ownership of both the current shift and the shift that follows
• Ensure the team is executing SOP and quality standards correctly and consistently
• Actively coach and provide feedback to Team Members to ensure they bring their best DOING and BEING to their role
• Train team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotional items
• Perform administrative tasks with integrity and completion, including bank deposits, inventory, store product orders and others as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

• At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience, or be properly trained and approved to take responsibility as a Shift Leader
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

Hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4 to 8 hours, or ability to accomplish these requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
