Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is interviewing for a Shift Leader at our Hartford, CT location. You’ll be the captain of the night shift, guiding the cookie crew, delegating tasks, and ensuring excellent guest service and product quality.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a customer-service role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems.

• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and quality baked goods to guests.
• Assist store leadership with daily operations and communication of key info.
• Delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning.
• Support and collaborate with the Cookie Crew.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow food-safety practices.
• Handle cash and deposits with accuracy.

We are actively interviewing Shift Leaders for our brand new Hartford, CT location at 247 Asylum St, Hartford, CT 06103. As a Shift Leader you are the captain of our bakery day or night, owning the night by predicting the flow of business and leading a productive and fun night for the store.

What will I do as a Shift Leader?

• Provide incredible customer service and quality products to all guests in our bakery
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations, communicating pertinent information, monitoring production efficiency, holding the team accountable to company standards, and assisting with training and coaching of team members
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the cookie crew team
• Support and work alongside the Cookie Crew
• Provide a safe, clean working environment for guests and staff and adhere to safe food handling practices
• Manage cash handling and deposits

Desired Skills / Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a customer‑service focused role
• Point of Sale systems experience
• Outstanding communication, time management, and people skills
• Outgoing, friendly, patient demeanor
• Detail focused and results oriented
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older to be employed
