Job summary

Habit Burger & Grill is hiring a Shift Leader to oversee all FOH & BOH functions during a shift, ensuring a smooth operation and exceptional guest experiences.

You will work with the management team on labor costs, food quality, and safety standards while supporting recruitment, training, and daily team supervision. A strong leader with service focus and problem-solving skills is ideal.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related food service management position or 2 years in other food service roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food safety certification (Food Manager and/or ServSafe Manager) required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with guests in a polite and friendly manner.
• Oversee daily restaurant shift operations for FOH & BOH.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring FOH staff; train and develop team members.
• Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Meet sales goals, manage food and labor costs, and monitor inventory.
• Prepare deposits and reconcile cash drawers and safes from previous shifts.
• Support in opening/closing duties and maintain high standards of customer service.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve guest satisfaction.

You will assist in ensuring an exceptional service experience for every guest. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS• Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in a restaurant.• Read, write and communicate effectively in English.• Basic math skills and computer competency.• Customer service focused and oriented.• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.• Demonstrate leadership qualities and professionalism.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS• 1 year of experience in related food service management position preferred, or 2 years of experience in other food service position.• High school degree or equivalent preferred.• Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule based on restaurant needs.• Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
