Job summary

Habit Burger & Grill in Napa, CA is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house functions, guide a high-performing team, and ensure a smooth shift. You will work with the management team to meet sales goals, control costs, and maintain health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in related food service management or 2 years in other food service
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with guests in a polite and friendly manner.
• Recruit and hire FOH staff and train them to service standards.
• Oversee daily restaurant shift operations and ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor food quality, safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
• Control food and labor costs to optimize profits.
• Prepare deposits and reconcile cash drawers and safes from shifts.

You will assist in ensuring an exceptional service experience for every guest. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS• Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in a restaurant.• Read, write and communicate effectively in English.• Basic math skills and computer competency.• Customer service focused and oriented.• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.• Demonstrate leadership qualities and professionalism.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS• 1 year of experience in related food service management position preferred, or 2 years of experience in other food service position.• High school degree or equivalent preferred.• Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule based on restaurant needs.• Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
