Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Depew, NY is seeking a Meat Coordinator to join our meat department team. You will ensure the best and freshest meat items are in stock, creatively displayed, and readily available for customers in a fast-paced environment.

You will learn product details, assist customers, help with ordering and inventory, and contribute to high-quality customer service in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Experience with meat cutting or butcher shop preferred.
• Managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of different cuts of meat and poultry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand products offered in the department and maintain department appearance.
• Ensure fresh product and inventory levels are stocked and merchandised in eye-catching displays; stock in correct locations.
• Assist customers by helping locate products, suggesting meal ideas, and answering product questions.
• Know how products look and taste at peak; apply core recipes and techniques for consistent quality.
• Assist in ordering and inventory processes using ordering guides to control inventory and shrink.

In the role of Meat Coordinator, you'll work with a team to ensure the best and freshest meat items are in stock, displayed creatively, and available for customers. What will I do?

• Possess an understanding of the products offered in the department
• Maintain the overall appearance of the department, ensure fresh product and levels are sustained, items are well-merchandised in innovative, eye-appealing displays and stocked in correct locations, while recognizing seasonal, holiday and weather effects on product sales
• Proactively approach customers, assist them in locating products throughout the department, provide suggestions for meal solutions, and answer any questions they may have about products
• Understand how products look/taste at peak of perfection, ensure use core recipes and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome
• Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing ordering guides to help control inventory and shrink
